Ocean Fun
October 31, 2009
Newly married Nick and Melissa hadn’t had any wedding pictures done, so we hit the beach ready to take some romantic portraits! Nick was such a great sport…he had a broken ankle but hiked around without a complaint and even got quite wet and sandy for our version of some “From Here to Eternity” ocean pics! Between the couple’s natural chemistry and Melissa’s beautiful piercing eyes, my job was easy:)

Tynan
October 24, 2009
Ty was the first senior boy of the 2010 class that I’ve met! We hit Gate 2 St early in the morning. It was pretty much empty, so we had the run of the place:) Unfortunately, Ty had just hurt his wrist so we couldn’t do any of the planned breakdancing shots:( However, he’s also into street jumping (known as “parkour”) so we got some great action shots anyway!

It was great to meet you Ty…good luck in your senior year!!

Family of Three
October 17, 2009
I met with the Jones family at my favorite time of day (early evening!) down at Taguchi Beach. This park is so popular with photographers, I cannot go there without seeing at least one other family getting photos done, if not more! I think it’s popularity is due to the huge variety of wonderful spots for photos…you could do 30 different shoots there, and every one would be different! This evening was particularly beautiful and clear, and it’s nice to note that the humidity is finally starting to dissipate!

Little Jonathon is the most delightful little boy…he has one of those wonderful baby smiles that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy when he flashes it your way:)

Such a cutie!!!

I feel so lucky to get to meet such warm, loving families and cute babies!

And, lastly…

Senior Time!
October 9, 2009
Meet Miss Amanda, a senior in the 2010 class:) We had a blast running around finding good spots both at the seawall and the library. Seniors are so fun to photograph…I can’t wait to meet more as the year progresses!!!
I try to focus on each senior’s particular interests, and Amanda mentioned that among other interests, she is very involved with academic pursuits, so the first stop was the Kadena Library for some studying!!!

After all that studying, it was time for a break so we drove to the seawall! The rest of the evening involved climbing stairs, getting stuck in alleyways, and balancing on giant jacks with waves crashing perilously close!!!

Good luck in the future, Amanda–in everything you do!!!

Jennifer and Eric
October 4, 2009
Jennifer and Eric were on a little vacation/work trip to Okinawa and wanted to do a couple’s session at the beach. They live in mainland Japan and I was pelting them with questions the whole time about it because I haven’t had much of a chance to visit the rest of Japan yet! We went to Araha Beach on a relatively cloudless evening. They are such a fun and loving couple:)

We started on the back side of the walkway since the sun was so bright!

Then, around to the front side where the cool paintings are!

I heart textures:)

Finally, as the sun got low, we hit the beach!

And…..sunset:) I hope you enjoyed the rest of your visit J & E…good luck in the future!!!

These are beautiful. You have the perfect locations. What a great trooper he was, these sessions can be rough and it looks like you had some difficult terrain to navigate on a broken ankle.
